Charitable IRA Rollover!
If you are 70 ½ or older temporary legislation allows you to make cash gifts totaling up to $100,000 per year from your traditional or Roth IRA to qualified charities without incurring income tax on the withdrawal. This is good news for people who want to make a charitable gift during their lifetime from their retirement assets, but have been discouraged from doing so because of the income tax penalty. The current provision is effective for tax years 2008 and 2009 only.

Hyde Road Boat Launch

Description

We have partnered with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to build and maintain a small craft boat launch at this site. Depending on the current and water level you can launch a kayak or canoe at the Hyde road launch and reach the mouth of the Yakima River in 4-7 hours. Plan to see plenty of waterfowl, summer time you will see osprey working the water and in the winter bald eagles will visit this lower reach along the Yakima in search of waterfowl and spent salmon. If it is breezy prepare for a hard paddle as you reach the mouth, especially if the wind is out of the south west. It is a great river to float in the fall as the cottonwood, silver maple and sumac explode with color. The Tapteal Greenway does an annual float trip in the fall. We hope you will join us. You don’t need a kayak or a canoe, you can ride along with us. Check out the events page for dates and times of the float trip.
