Yakima Shoreline Cleanup

Join us for a trash cleanup along the section of the Tapteal Trail immediately upstream of the Wanawish Dam. We will also send a crew to the area we call Omaha Beach further upstream if there is a large enough turnout. We will meet at the parking area next to the Wanawish Dam (directions below). Tapteal Greenway and Benton County will provide trash bags and removal along with a limited number of trash grabbers. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves for this event.

The dam is located along Hwy 240 roughly 7.8 miles from the ByPass Hwy and Stevens Dr intersection. The entrance is located a short distance past Mile Marker 21 on the left and the large Benton City sign on the right. Look for a pair of orange cones marking the entrance.
